Many libraries around the world are right now closed in order to prevent virus spreading. This means that we at the moment are not able to handle interlibrary loans of books that cannot be found in Sweden. If you wish to order anything from outside Sweden, please come back with your order at a later date. We will inform you when it is possible to order interlibrary loans of books from outside the country again.
Requesting interlibrary loans
If you are a student or employee at the Faculty of Social Sciences and you need materials for study or research which are not available from any library at Lund University, you can request the materials by interlibrary loan through us.
You can find some articles that have been published in printed journals via the Lubito service. Search for the journal and fill in a request form to receive the requested article via email, in PDF format.
Some older Swedish literature (printed before 1957) may not be listed in LUBcat. This type of material can be requested via the University Library (UB).
If the book or the journal is not listed in LUBcat or in LUBsearch, you can request it by interlibrary loan directly in Libris or by filling in the request form, see below.
Please note that you cannot request the book via interlibrary loan if it is available at one of Lund University’s libraries but is currently out on loan, or if we have it as an e-book.
Requesting directly through Libris
If you find a book you are looking for in Libris, you can request it directly via Libris.
Before making your first request, you need to create an account (form only in Swedish).
Library card (lånekort), a field in the registration form, is the last 10 digits of your LU card number.
If you can't find the book in Libris
If the material you want to request is not listed in Libris, you can use the request form below:
How much does it cost?
- Borrowing books from libraries within the Nordic area is free of charge for students and researchers
- Borrowing from libraries outside the Nordic area: SEK 150/book for students, free of charge for researchers
- Articles: SEK 80/article (1–25 pages) for students, free of charge for researchers (delivered as copies)
How long does it take?
How long it takes to receive a requested book or article depends on availability and the home library of the requested book or article. Articles tend to arrive faster than books, and you should expect to wait at least a week for a book. If you have any questions, please contact us!
Notification that the material has arrived
We notify you via email when the requested material has arrived. It can be picked up at the information desk.
